Se llaman\u201c<em>irregulares<\/em>\u201d porque no siguen ning\u00fan patr\u00f3n t\u00edpico a diferencia de otros verbos que se adaptan y en los que su forma no cambia.<\/p>\n<p>Por ejemplo, los verbos regulares en el pasado simple y el participio terminan en \u00ab<em>-ed<\/em>\u00ab; en cambio dependiendo del verbo irregular ser\u00e1 de una forma u otro.<\/p>\n<p>El verbo irregular \u201c<em>comer<\/em>\u201d tiene como infinitivo \u201c<em>eat<\/em>\u201d.\u00a0 Pero si fuese un verbo regular se le tendr\u00eda que a\u00f1adir al final \u201c<em>-ed<\/em>\u201d como hemos mencionado antes, siendo\u201c<em>eated<\/em>\u201d para formar el pasado y el participio. En cambio se forma de la siguiente forma:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Infinitivo:<\/strong>\u00a0 eat<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pasado simple:<\/strong> ate<\/li>\n<li><strong>Participio:<\/strong> eaten<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>La irregularidad de este verbo es que las tres formas son diferentes (eat-ate-eaten); pero existen m\u00e1s casos. Otro ejemplo ser\u00eda el verbo \u00ab<em>permitir<\/em>\u00ab, siendo las tres formas exactamente igual:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Infinitivo:<\/strong> Let<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pasado simple:<\/strong>\u00a0Let<\/li>\n<li><strong>Participio:\u00a0<\/strong>Let<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Aunque tambi\u00e9n te puedes encontrar que sea regular y a la vez irregular como es el caso del verbo \u00ab<em>derramar<\/em>\u00ab:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Infinitivo:<\/strong>\u00a0Spill<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pasado simple:<\/strong> Spilt \/ Spilled<\/li>\n<li><strong>Participio: <\/strong>Spilt \/ Spilled<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>En definitiva, no existe una regla exacta sobre los verbos irregulares.
